A Gift for a Stranger is an app for exchanging birthday wishes, made as a gift for a stranger the authors have never met. As we grow older, our birthdays slowly slip from other people's minds. The app hopes to be a gentle keepsake: even if you forget your own birthday, a stranger somewhere far away will still send you a small surprise.
The idea is simple: a random you sends a small birthday gift to a random someone else, and when your birthday comes, a random person sends good wishes your way. More and more people meet here and trade birthday greetings. In the authors' words: "We meet by chance, so let this gift say hello to you, stranger, for me."
At its core is a pipeline that turns text into an image and then the image into a 3D model, powered by the Tripo API.
How Tripo was used
Tripo drives the core of the app: the authors used the Tripo API to build its generation pipeline, which goes from text to image and then from image to 3D model.
