Description

Exuvia is a 3D-printed handbag inspired by the shells that living things leave behind when they shed their outer layers. Its form sits somewhere between a biological remnant and a man-made artifact.

It started from an AI-generated concept image, was developed into an initial 3D model with Tripo, refined in Nomad Sculpt, and then 3D printed into a physical bag. The body is printed in eco-friendly PLA, while the flexible TPU handle balances sculptural detail with comfort. Silver-painted accents bring out the futuristic fashion look of Y3K.

Made as a gift to the author's future self, it embodies an exploration of futuristic design and the hope to keep creating and bring the work into everyday life.

How Tripo was used

Tripo generated the bag's initial model. Starting from an AI concept image, the author used Tripo for AI-assisted modeling, then refined the result in Nomad Sculpt, taking the bag from virtual to something that could actually be made.
