Description

SEABORNE is a gift for anyone who needs a moment of calm in a busy life. Inspired by the feeling of being underwater and wrapped in the ocean, it builds a VR seabed that you shape little by little.

It begins with finding a meaningful everyday object. You photograph it, and AI-assisted modeling transforms it into a sea creature that still carries the object's features; after adjusting the model, you place it in your own underwater space. As familiar things gather in the sea in new forms, the world gradually becomes a habitat that is yours alone.

The author hopes people will carry fragments of their lives into the ocean, slow down as they explore and create, and leave a quiet space for their feelings and memories. It was made in Unity, using Unity's official ocean asset pack for the underwater scenery.

The version currently available is a short desktop demo for Windows built from the VR project: no VR headset is needed, you play with keyboard and mouse, and the objects on display are preset rather than generated through an AI service. A dedicated graphics card is recommended.

How Tripo was used

Tripo is the bridge between real objects and the virtual seabed: it lowers the barrier to personalized 3D content and lets people take a more direct part in building the space.

  • Objects into sea creatures: once you photograph an object, the system calls the Tripo API with the author's purpose-built, continually refined ocean-transformation prompts, generating a personalized 3D model with sea-creature features.
  • Straight into Unity: the generated models go directly into Unity through Tripo's Unity plugin, ready for interaction design and building the VR scene.
