Description

Between the Echoes is a story of reunion and farewell inside memory. Years after losing his father, Chen Mo returns to his childhood home. Guided by his father's belongings, he enters a reconstructed memory space, where the two finally keep their promise to see the sea together. When his father's image fades, Chen Mo begins the goodbye he never got to say, and later shares this memory with the next generation.

The film explores how love carries on after loss. It is a gift for everyone who still has a goodbye to say: a place for unfinished longing to rest, where remembrance becomes a bond with the next generation.

The production combines AI-generated images and video with editing, sound design and color grading. The workflow moves from script and shot planning through visual generation and shot refinement to final assembly, with a focus on character consistency and visual continuity. Recurring objects, an empty seat and the constant sound of the waves tie the passage of time to the feelings that remain.

Images were generated with Nano Banana and Seedance and video with Seedance and Kling, with World Labs and PixVerse also in the toolkit; the film was edited in CapCut, and the music and sound effects were generated with MiniMax AI music.

How Tripo was used

Tripo turned the old belongings that carry the story from props on screen into 3D vessels of memory that viewers can explore.

  • Belongings in 3D: the film first gives each object its emotional meaning, then Tripo turns the 2D objects into 3D assets, making the models an interactive way into the story.
  • Into the web: the 3D objects are brought into a web page and linked with the AI imagery and sound design, so viewers piece the story together as they examine them, moving from watching a film to exploring a memory.
