CatLog is a community cat catalog, made as a gift for the city we share with its cats. Urban strays live right beside us, yet they stay invisible: no names, no records, just shadows that scatter. Coexistence is missing a bridge. CatLog turns a neighborhood into a living catalog where every feline resident gets a number, a profile, a collectible card of its own and a 3D body you can orbit 360°.
The gift is for the neighbors who feed these cats and for everyone who never got the chance to know them. Once you can tell "this one is shy, that one is cuddly," kindness finally has a place to land: feeding shadows becomes caring for named residents. For anyone who has ever loved a cat, it quietly becomes a place to keep a memory, where a single photo can become a lasting 3D model.
Open CatLog and three sample cats are already inside: Latte the ragdoll, Little Beauty, the supermodel of the walking path, and Mama Cat, captain of the night patrol, who pulled a rare holo card, so opening her profile rains confetti. Every cat has a profile page with its coat, personality and hangout spots; a high-res card rendered live on canvas, its element classified from the coat colors in the photo and its moves and rarity seeded from its name; and a Tripo-generated 3D model you can spin. To add a cat, drop in any photo and the coat and element are detected automatically (with a GLM-4V key, the bio writes itself); submit, and the card pops out with a fresh entry number. The whole catalog switches between English and Chinese in one click.
Under the hood, the cards are drawn with pure front-end Canvas and the card art is original; the cats are stored in localStorage; and a zero-dependency Python server proxies the Tripo v3 API, with the full image-to-model pipeline wired in, as well as the GLM-4V auto-bios. The catalog works offline. CatLog is provided as source code and needs to be built and run yourself. One photo at a time, the neighborhood's cats grow into a world: the team's gift to the city.
How Tripo was used
For the team, Tripo is not an asset factory here but an identity engine for invisible urban animals: one photo of a stray becomes a 3D resident you can orbit, written back into the growing community catalog.
- 3 sample cat models: generated with Tripo image-to-3D.
- One photo, two pipelines: coat-color analysis and GLM-4V produce the card while Tripo builds the 3D body, so a single shot yields a card, a 3D model and a catalog entry with zero modeling.
- A zero-dependency Python server proxies the Tripo v3 API, with the full image-to-model pipeline wired in.
