Description
Some gifts are things. This one is somewhere to be. Costa Vida: A Place to Breathe is a stylized Mediterranean life game about restoring an old farm beside the sea, made for someone who needs a quiet afternoon somewhere beautiful.
Pick oranges and grapes into your backpack and sell them at the village market. Collect tools, water young plants, make compost and replant neglected land. Talk to Rosa, Ines and Mateo, and buy a second orchard plot at Rosa's stall. Return to the hillside casa and sleep until morning; your progress carries into the next visit. Plants you buy wait in the crate by the well.
The gift is a place to breathe: whitewashed homes, terracotta, fruit trees and pale cliffs, with small tasks and time left over to enjoy the view. A home for rest, farmland for restoration and a coast for exploration share one setting. A longer story, deeper relationships, mining, wine making, sailing and more islands remain future design.
The team works with AI-assisted art and engineering. The world's buildings, props, trees and clothing were made for this project with Tripo and Blender, on free CC0 foundations: MakeHuman base bodies for the people and ambientCG bark on the umbrella pines. Design and code both began during the event, while the engine, licensed music, sounds and fonts, base bodies and animations are existing third-party resources. This is a Windows development-build demo (build 129) with keyboard, mouse and controller support. The synthetic voiceover is incomplete, and eight tutorial lines are still silent.
How Tripo was used
Tripo generated selected 3D assets from art-directed reference views.
- Three documented chains: the dining table, the rustic workbench and the wheelbarrow each started from four AI reference views, got their geometry and textures from Tripo (model H3.1), were fitted, baked and given collision in Blender, and were then integrated into the playable demo in Unreal Engine.
- Tripo also contributed trees, fruit trees, characters and props.
