Description

Lunch Gravity is a web app for settling the daily question of what to eat, made by its team as a gift for everyone who loves a good meal. You can filter restaurants by office location, budget, distance, taste and Amap rating, then turn your picks into a lunch list to share with coworkers.

It also takes the menu from 2D to 3D. When diners upload photos of dishes along with their reviews, the app turns the photos into textured 3D models shown inside the reviews; on the page you can rotate and zoom each model or switch back to the original photo at any time. Once the draw has picked today's restaurant, you can look at its dishes in 3D right away.

Everything forms one workflow: upload a photo and a review, generate a 3D model, show it in the review, and view the dishes from the draw result. Restaurant picking, reviews and shared lunch lists give these 3D dishes a real place to live, so other diners can find them and come back to them. The original photos are always kept, and the models are clearly labeled as AI-generated previews.

How Tripo was used

Tripo is the core generator behind the 3D dish view.

  • 3D dishes: after a user uploads a photo of a dish, Tripo image-to-3D turns it into a textured model, with no modeling or texturing needed.
  • Division of work: Tripo generates the models; the app's backend handles image storage, background jobs and linking models to reviews; React and model-viewer handle display, rotation, zoom and switching back to the original photo.
