Try it live Description
Our Colourful World is a first-person sensory journey about finding your way home when sight is not the main source of information.
After an unexpected bus diversion leaves the player at an unfamiliar stop, there is no minimap, route arrow or complete visual world to rely on. The way home is pieced together from spatial sound, the texture and interruptions of tactile paving, the tap of a white cane, conversations with passers-by, the smell of a bakery and fragments of memory. Each action follows a simple rhythm: perceive, infer, act, verify, and update an internal map.
The experience begins in darkness. A cane tap briefly reveals nearby forms, while traffic, footsteps, wind, voices and different contact sounds remain essential navigation cues. Real-world uncertainty is part of the route: tactile paths may be blocked, pedestrians and vehicles can collide with the player, and crossing safely means listening, asking for help and judging the surroundings rather than following a game marker.
This is not an attempt to "simulate blindness" by simply turning the screen black. It is a small, respectful world that questions the visual assumptions built into games and cities. It is a gift for people who navigate the world beyond sight, and an invitation for sighted players to slow down, listen differently and recognize that a world can remain vivid, complex and colorful without being fully seen.
