Try it live Description
Rantlist.me is a persistent, collaborative, multi-device, multi-user platform built on open web standards such as WebGL and WebXR. It is a gift for creative freedom: for people who want the freedom to create and to feel present together, even when they are physically apart.
It starts as something familiar: a chat room for conversation, media sharing, multiplayer games and collaboration. But every channel can extend into its own persistent shared 3D world, with no limit on how many worlds people can create. The same world can be entered from a standard browser or in VR through WebXR: open it in the WebXR-capable browser on a PICO headset and it becomes a 6DoF VR space, with no separate native XR app needed.
Inside these worlds, people can:
- Build together, placing and manipulating 3D objects.
- Share images, audio and video, and watch streams on spatial media surfaces.
- Hear positional HRTF spatial audio.
- Create vehicles, save worlds and teleport between spatial bookmarks.
The experience is meant to be immediate. A conversation can become a building session, a shared song can become spatial audio, a video can become part of the environment, and a saved location can become a place everyone returns to. Each channel keeps an authoritative, persistent world, so everyone enters the same space and picks up from what they built together. That is the gift: creative freedom and presence, a shared place people can shape, revisit and experience together, wherever they are.
Rantlist existed before the hackathon as a prototype communication platform with chat, channels, media sharing, calls, and multiplayer tools and games; the world-building features, including Avatar Lab, the Tripo-powered 2D-to-3D workflow, the persistent interactive 3D Stage, channel-scoped world state, collaborative building, spatial media and world saves, were built during the event. The team also credits World Labs' work on spatial intelligence and persistent, navigable world models as a major influence on treating worlds as places to enter, change and revisit rather than static 3D scenes.
How Tripo was used
Tripo is a core part of Rantlist's creation pipeline, turning 2D character references into usable 3D models.
- 2D to 3D: character references that users provide or generate are turned into 3D models with Tripo. This Tripo-powered workflow and Avatar Lab were both built during the hackathon.
- Beyond generation: the models then go through optimization, rigging and animation, and are deployed into persistent multi-user WebXR worlds as interactive avatars and objects that people share, inhabit and use together in real time.
- At runtime: Tripo-generated models are created or imported dynamically while Rantlist runs; no pre-made third-party 3D models ship with the client or server.
