Description

Slop Blindbox Collectible turns the internet's most polarizing AI creations into cute, desirable collectibles. It plays with a contradiction: something dismissed as "slop" can become something people want once it is thoughtfully designed, beautifully packaged and given a little mystery. Along the way it asks a controversial question: what makes a character disposable content, and what makes it a prized possession?

Each blind box is a surprise drop inspired by the characters, memes and aesthetics taking over our feeds. Familiar internet chaos is reimagined through original 3D character design, wrapped in premium packaging and hidden until the reveal. Think the anticipation of a Pop Mart unboxing, with the absurdity of your favorite corner of the internet.

The current prototype focuses on premium presentation through the blind-box packaging. Users enter the raffle, receive a random blind box, open it with their hands and get their own Slop Blindbox Collectible. Each of the 8 characters also has its own world, designed around the character's original viral videos, personality and history, where it can walk, run, jump and collect coins for aura points.

The vision is for every character to have multiple digital lives: a downloadable profile picture, a wallpaper, a 3D model for supported games and an animated desktop companion that hangs out while you work. Digital collectibles are the core experience, and select limited editions could become 3D-printed figures that put a piece of internet culture on your actual desk. Future plans include artist collaborations and themed drops.

It is made for people who find value and love in what others call worthless: playful, a little provocative, and built for anyone who knows that loving something and finding it ridiculous can be the same feeling. Everything in the project was made during the hackathon.

How Tripo was used

Tripo created the 3D characters in this blind-box collection.

  • Characters: each one was generated with Tripo image-to-3D from image prompts, so the set feels visually coherent while every character keeps its key visual traits, expressions and personality. After rigging, the author used Codex Astra to bring in walk, run and jump animations so the characters can move through the worlds made with World Labs.
  • Blind-box packaging: the trash-can box was also iterated on until it felt premium, refining color, type and character placement, and the lid was modeled separately so the box actually opens.
